About the role
As a valued member of Micado’s Engineering team, you will specialise in developing and enhancing Micado’s Analytics Platform. This role involves working with back-end and front-end developers and in partnership with the wider Product and Engineering team in building a modern, scalable, expandable, and secure platform to deliver a world-class and ever-improving product to our customers.
Broad-reaching, this role spans product vision and strategic engagement of senior internal and market stakeholders with a detailed understanding of product realisation challenges. You will be responsible not only for product definition and success criteria, including metricised delivery progress but ensuring our technical strategy aligns with, supports, and ensures the viability of our product strategy.
This role requires very strong technical acumen and a deep understanding of a wide range of technologies, applications & cloud architectures and is more suited to software or DevOps engineer transitioning to product, than a product manager with some technical knowledge. Key responsibilities include:

Work with the CEO and other senior members of the team to shape the vision, strategy, and priorities for the platform

Explore cutting edge technology in AI and data science to future proof the product and maximise its effectiveness

Be responsible for the alignment of the technical direction

Closely follow technical trends and best practices, identify opportunities for product innovation while maintaining the fundamental business objectives

Understand product requirements and user needs

Lead a team of senior Engineers and work alongside product and delivery managers to establish governance for particular programs of work

Collaborate with other leaders to mentor, recruit, and onboard technical team members

Develop a deep and ongoing understanding of key product and infrastructure metrics and performance indicators

Be an effective SCRUM Master: Effectively manage sprints to achieve sprint goals, groom and prioritise the product backlog

Play an active role in upholding the company's culture, values & philosophy, in particular, promoting a strong performance culture, with a focus on the people

Team development; recruiting, training & mentoring leaders & key team members

Development and delivery of a research road map for special projects

Continuous Improvement within the engineering function and the product as a whole
Skills & Experience required
-
7+ years experience in engineering practices with strong technical skills. You have proven experience as a Head of Engineering, Tech/Team Lead, or CTO of a B2B SaaS or deep tech start-up or are a very experienced developer looking to step up to CTO

Excellent leadership skills with a focus on coaching, strong decision making, and the ability to align the vision and strategy

Experience with data/AI product development and/or deep tech solution development

Ability to collaborate with others and work with cross-functional teams

Strong technical knowledge in: React.js and Node.js development, AWS and Microservices, Dev Ops or Cloud Native architecture, CI/CD Pipeline Management.

Management of cross-functional teams

Exceptional technical communications and relationship management skills with technical engineering groups

A strategic digital/technical outlook with senior leadership engagement

Demonstrable experience of product roadmap & market comprehension

A strong technical software engineering or architecture background with a firm grasp on productised technology services

Collaborative leadership skills, a true servant leader who inspires and mentor others

Passion for future technologies such as machine learning and AI, ideally experience with SaaS platforms

Experience in managing Agile practices

A strong commercial mind, with the ability to manage budgets
